Palm Beach County, FL. – Obtaining a birth or death certificate just got a little easier with the start of the New Year in the county.

The Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County Office of Vital Statistics added a second location, in the Delray Beach Health Center, 225 S. Congress. This new location allows individuals to obtain a birth certificate, funeral directors to file a death notification and where family members can acquire copies of the death certificate needed to close estate matters. The original location remains open Monday-Friday at 800 Clematis Street in West Palm Beach.

"We always strive for convenient and excellent customer service," said Lilly Salazar, Chief Deputy Registrar for Vital Statistics in Palm Beach County. "We hope that this new South County location will help people in the area get their needed certificates in less time with limited travel."

Salazar added that the County Tax Collector offices in Palm Beach Gardens, West Palm Beach, Western Lake Worth, Lantana, Royal Palm Beach, Belle Glade and Delray Beach have Birth Certificates available daily for an additional convenience fee.

Birth Certificates are available for persons born in the State of Florida for years 1919 to the present. However, persons born before 1930 can only obtain their birth certificate through the Office of Vital Statistics, PO Box 210, Jacksonville, FL 32231. All others are available through local locations or on line Death Certificates are available for persons who died 2009 or later. Prior years must contact the Jacksonville Office.
