Comprehensive School Health Services
Services to students include Health appraisals, counseling, and referrals as needed. Additional services include:
Health and immunization record review Nutrition assessment
Classroom health education
Acute care for emergencies
School staff in-services Health consultants to faculty and administration.
Developed and maintained by Palm Beach County in collaboration with the Division of Immunizations and the Immunization Coalition to provide outreach throughout the county to ensure that the students of Palm Beach County are in compliance with state immunization requirements.
Pre-K Early Intervention Program
Pre-K Early Intervention Program maintained and supervised by School Health. The focus is on preparing healthy children for entry into school by having physical exams, lead and anemia screening, immunization services and nutrition counseling.
Florida Atlantic University and the Health Department have identified five schools as "wellness centers." These clinics are set up primarily after hours. The goal is to provide an access point for patients with little or no accessibility to health care; assist these patients in finding a medical home; and enhance preventive medical care.
