The Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County (DOH-Palm Beach) has recently been informed of calls that look to have originated from our main number, 561-840-4500, asking for personal information. This may be an attempt to obtain personal information via deception (often referred to as “phishing”). Criminals who engage in this type of activity have been known to spoof caller identification, making it appear the call is coming from any organization of the scammer’s choosing, including state government entities. DOH-Palm Beach will never call you, unsolicited, asking for your address, social security number, or other identifying information. If the call appears suspicious, hang up and notify the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
