Palm Beach County, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County (DOH-Palm Beach) has lifted the health advisory for the unnamed canal located near 2459 S. Congress Ave., Palm Springs, FL and the Lake Clarke waterway. Recent coordinated laboratory testing with the Village of Palm Springs and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has concluded that water again meets surface water quality standards for fecal-indicator bacteria confirming the public may resume water-related activities.

The original public health alert was issued on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 for the canal and Lake
Clarke waterway due to a wastewater spill.

For any additional information about the potential health effects of wastewater overflow, Floridians are encouraged to contact DOH-Palm Beach at 561-837-5900 or chd50contactus@flhealth.gov.
