Palm Beach County, Fla. - The Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County (DOH-Palm Beach) provides bacterial testing services to residents through its Environmental Laboratory. DOH-Palm Beach recommends that private well owners be aware of potential health risks from contaminated wells and have their water tested at least once a year.
“Sharing our laboratory services is essential to raising awareness about the health risks associated with unmonitored private well water,” said Biological Administrator Jessenia Morales-Hernandez. “Contaminated water can cause illnesses, especially in youth, elderly, or immunocompromised individuals. DOH-Palm Beach strongly recommends annual testing.”
The Environmental Laboratory also tests non-potable water, including lakes, pools, and beaches to assess fecal pollution and contamination related to health hazards. Bacteriological testing services include analyses for total coliform and E.coli in drinking water as well as Enterococci and E.coli in non-potable water.
For more information on testing services and pricing, call 561-822-4553 or email EPHLaboratory@flhealth.gov.
