Emergency Support Function (ESF-8)

The Department of Health (DOH), as the lead agency for Florida's Emergency Support Function 8 (ESF 8)—public health and medical, coordinates development and maintenance of plans, both internal to the department, and those used by other partners in the state's public health and medical system.

Community Resilience relies on the ability to develop informed, empowered, and resilient healthcare systems and residents. With adequate information, resources, and tools, communities are better prepared to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond, rebound, recover, and adapt to threats and all-hazards.
