A message from our health officer
The Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County’s (DOH-Palm Beach) mission is to protect, promote, and improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county, and community efforts. As Director of the Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County, my role is to lead the Department in the effort to fulfill our mission and to achieve our vision by utilizing our Strategic Plan and our Community Health Improvement Plan. Our dedicated staff plays a vital role in supporting and carrying out our mission by providing caring and professional services to our clients. With the support of our dedicated employees and community partners, the Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County is able to develop and implement health initiatives that benefit our residents and visitors. Our Preventive Medicine/Public Health Residency makes us a recognized academic public health leader since 1956.
As a service organization, we are responsible for the health of millions of residents and visitors in Palm Beach County. Health is much more than just the absence of disease. It is the state of optimal physical, mental, spiritual and social well-being. Public health and preventive medicine work hand in hand to extend this concept to our entire community.
