The alert is in response to water samples taken on September 2 for Lake Okeechobee LZ40, L007, and L006.

Tests completed on Monday, August 31, indicate that the water quality at DuBois Lagoon does not meet the recreational water quality criteria for Enterococcus bacteria recommended by the Florida Department of Health.

Follow-up water samples of Lake Okeechobee – S352 did not detect algae toxins, indicating the public may resume water-related activities.

Tests completed on Monday, August 24, indicate that the water quality at Coral Cove Park does not meet the recreational water quality criteria for Enterococcus bacteria recommended by the Florida Department of Health.
